i am configuring my first 8300/700 combination , i have my comm manager loaded, added the gateway at the sat but the problem is that my gateway cannot be seen by the server...
i am confused about the ip addressing on the gateway as the config book is very detailed about the ip addresses...will the gateway addresses(MGP, P330,& VOIP) be on the same subnet? and what about Ether 1 on the server? will it be on the same subnet?
this system is stand alone...

you need to configure some stuff on this very nice machine.
First of all you need a network switch that is configured, so at least it gots an ip address. Then this:

Connect with the console cable to the G700

do an nvram init

1. set the inband interface ip address of the G700
2. set the mgp ip address of the G700
3. set the voipe module ip address of the G700

reset the G700

Connect with a cross over cable to the S8300 at the default ip address.

Configure the mediaservers parameters by using the wizard

You must not forget to set an mgc list if this mediaserver is running as an LSP.

Al of this in the well know avaya documentation

tks again, avayafreakje...my s8300 can now see the g700, the problem was i didnt put anything on the mgc list, now the problem is my ip phone 4624...looking for a dhcp server forever ...what will be my call server? is it my s8300?
is there a job aid how to configure an ip phone 4624 on an s8300/g700?
