Issue: We have 47 office locations, 3 of the locations have S8700's with several g700/8300 LSPs, some are G3si V10 and the rest are Prologix V11.3 switches.

We are switching all of all of our Voice LD trunks from one carrier to another, so all of our LD trunks will be changing.

Question: Our new LD trunks will be provisioned by our new ICX carrier, so will I need to rebuild each trunk group to correlate with our new carrier and if so is there an easy way to do in advance of the cut-over?

Thanks for any advice or related experience that you can offer.

I would build up the new trunk groups and just change the route patterns to point to the new ones. That would let you have everything done in advance and be able to test before turning them loose.

When you say have them point to the new trunk groups, this would be a hot-cut over correct?

If I wanted to keep up the current circuits until all traffic is routed and tested to the new circuits, would I need to add an additional DS1 card per circuit?

You are correct. But this would allow you to do this with as little disruption as possible to your company. If you try to do these a little at a time it could be a nightmare. I would (at the very least) but the TN464 packs and have the D signaling up. Then you can add trunks to it without all of your trunks being out of service.

Be careful! Make sure you don't have other applications (CTI, Voice Recording, etc.) that rely on your trunk group information. All of that would need to be changed as well. Are you even sure you need to rebuild? Have you confirmed the parameters of the new circuits? You may get lucky.
