I only ever use the internet with a power user account never as administrator.
Can any XP experts out there tell me how much more secure this makes XP against virus and trojan attacks, and is it worth doing?

!!A good cup of Tetley keeps the madness at bay!!

It actually helps quite a bit.

Malware (virus, worm, trojan) cannot install device drivers, change service status, modify critical areas of the registry, and cannot workaround the System File Protection system.

But don't get the false sense of security that nothing can happen!
