running out of room

2 hard drive in the same vg everything is on one drive hd3 its out of room

the other hard drive is empty has 4g

what do i do to beable to use the other hard drive thats in the same vg.

Can u post the outputs of the following commands, so that we have a better understanding of your scenario

lsvg -p <volumegroup name>
lsvg -l <volumegroup name>

Take the backup of filesystems and then remove them
using smit fs.Then recreate them in such a manner that you
first create corresponding logical volumes(smit mklv)
and then associate filesystems with lvs.
In this way you can place the newly formed fs on your
unused disk specifically.

Hi Call !

You can allocate more logical partitions to the logical volume &quot;lv01&quot; ,and u can get these logical partitions from
the physical volume &quot;hdisk1&quot;, because i can see 536 PP's free there.This can be done using
smitty extendlv
Ater allocating more LP's to the logical volume &quot;lv01&quot; , u can then extend the corresponding filesystem(/mercer) on that logical volume using
smitty chfs
or u can use the chfs command line also , refer to the man pages , if u got any doubts pls mail me.

the lp was max at 512 i made it 1024
then add 128 partitions should i have add 512 instead
then i extended it.
I think im ok now. just wanted to make sure i did it right.
