Hi everyone
I'm trying to run fastcli.nlm on a dell poweredge 4300 running netware 5.1 sp4
After loading sys:\perc2\fastcli.nlm and I enter the command "open afa0" i get the error
Executing: open "afa0"
Command Error: <The requested controller does not exist.>
How can I find what the controller name should be without reloading the server??
Many thanks in advance

Dave

have u tried loadinfg the correct drivers by running nwconfig

tyhen trying the command agian

If you run the Dell ArrayManager, it tells you what the name is. You have to install and run the agent onto the server, and then run the manager piece from your nt/xp system.

For example, in the Windows GUI, it should show something like this: PERC 2/Si Controller 0 (AFA0)

Thanks Marvin
I've installed the client software but can you tell me which nlms I need to install on the server?

Thanks in advance

dave

When you download the array manager software from Dell and extract it, there is a folder called "NETWARE" that is used to install the stuff on the server. The SETUP file that does the workstation client software install does not put any files on the server.

So copy the NETWARE folder to the server, and run NWCONFIG --> install product not listed, and then point it to the directory. It should pickup the .IPS file that is in there and install the necessary files.
