Ok, I am new to Linux. I finally was able to get a free computer which is a 466 emachine with 64 mb of memory and 8 gigs of hard drive space. I installed Red Hat 9. I want to use it as a server to test a filemaker pro database I built. The database is on my main computer. OK, here is the question:
1. Can I link this 466 computer to my router so it is connected to the web and my home network?
2. Then if I can do that. Can I install FileMaker Server on the 466?
3. If I can do all this. How hard is it to run Linux with Filemaker Pro Server to be able to test a Filemaker Pro application on my home computer? I have three computers connected to the home network right now.
So basically I want to use the 466 linux machine to test products I am developing on my main computer. That way I have instant notification of what I have to change or rebuild. I hope this makes since. Thank you.
