rundll32.exe problem

When trying to access the "system" panel via the control panel I get this error

"Cannot find the file 'rundll32.exe' (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and fiename are correct and that all required library's are available".

There are some other issues within the OS that I feel may relate to this but one thing at a time.

Any help or good links are appreciated

you could start by trying to boot to the recover console and copying over a new rundll32.exe
