Run Time Errorr 462

I am doing amail merge between Access 2000 & Word 2000, using ADO
Every now and agian I get a run time error 462 - The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailble.

If I stop the code, close Word and run the code agian it works - so I don't think it is the code.

What else causes this error, and how can I fix it?

If the code is in Access, then it is probably the code. You are most likely using unqualified references to Word objects from Access.

Every object, property and method needs to be qualified through relevant object variables.

You might try searching the this forum and the Access fora for Word Automation code (or the 462 error), where you should find similar, both for Word, but perhaps more for Excel. The methods of resolving these issues, hovewer, are often quite similar. Posting your actual code, too, perhaps, if you can't get it to work ...
