Hello all,

I am currently trying to work through the Ultra dev tutorial to create an asp page.

I have gotten to to the part where I have to create a runtime ADO connection for a server not running Ulradev...

I contacted my web hoster and asked them to provide me with a connection string, and they replied to my e-mail like I was talking another language, so I do not have one, (though the server is suppost to be ASP enabled).

I assume that this connection string is essenial to get the page to work as I have ignored it and tried but cannot view the page(through browser or live data in ultra dev), I have also tried to set it up as though the server does have ultra dev, but no go....

has anyone got any idea how I can communicate the need for this connection string with my (oh so compitent) web hosting people, I have even typed out that part of the tutorial for them so they could understand what I am asking for but still no go (see page 30 of the ultra dev manual if'n you need to).

I'm sorry, I'm new to all this asp stuff so I hope my question makes sense...

I'm going to go cry to mommy now.... (-: The Bird from Down Under

Here's a FAQ over in the ASP forum that lists the different connection strings to different types of databases. Should be right up your alley.
