Good'day,
I have two programs that need to run for a piece of software which our office uses; they don't run as services, they want to be running on the desktop.
The vendor solution is "configure your server for automatic administrative login and put shortcuts to the application in the startup folder". I do not like this solution---- my servers are in my main office and I dont' have a locked network closet or anything --- I really don't want them to automatically login as an administrative user shoudl they restart or something.
Somebody suggested to me to write or find a program which runs a windows service that launches the programs in a virtual desktop --- this is good but I've not been able to find nor have I been able to figure out how to create such an application.
I'm trying to find a spare computer to do run these programs that I can go lock in a corner; but I was wondering if ya'll had any similar issues or programs and how ya'll solve the problem.
Mark
