I am running quite a few applications that require admin rights for the software to run. Even though I have the stations patched with antivirus, malware, etc... I am still having issues with gunk that keeps creaping in and making the machines run like Sh*t. I don't have access to the AD. What optins are there? I've tried a few registry settings but they are a pain. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

thanks

If you do not have admin rights, chances are, you won't be able to run anything as Admin. When selecting run-as from the properties menu, if you're not an administrator, it requires the admin password to be entered before continuing.

If the computer in question is your own and you don't have admin rights because of malware, or whatever - google can prove to be helpful in reclaiming what is yours.

I DO NOT CONDONE CRACKING ANYONES ADMIN PASSWORD UNLESS IT IS YOUR OWN PC!!! CRACKING IS ESSENTIALLY BREAKING AND ENTERING!

Goodluck.

Do these app really need adminrights, or is it a simple permissions issue?

Often programmes need to update or modify the Windows directory and if this is locked down, they may not be able to run.

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I have system rights but the problem is, some of my applications references other parts or other devices from within the first one where the security does not replicated. The second application when it is called I cannot change permissions. i.e. Main executable interfaces calls function through ADO and some using java. I would like to make this work so I don't give full permissions to the box and at the same time I don't have to run these applciation with my account by using runas admin.

I am hoping to resolve this by modifying registry keys.

Again thanks much.

Guys, I've tried several of these solutions but none seems to work for me. I like the idea setting of shift and right click option "run as administrator" and select the account. But the problem is, if the terminal is rebooted, this feature reverts back to the currnet profile.

Any way I can set this up for all users?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thx
