RPC Service Continually Restarting

Hi all,

having a problem with one of our servers (2000 SP4) the RPC Service is failing, causing the server to reboot - this is happening at random times (approx 15 a day)

have run virus checks and spy ware checks, nothing wrong there, the only thing different with this server is that it is set to auto install updates, i have uninstalled a few that might relate - but anyone seen anything like this before?

Anyhting in the Event Viewer that may indicate what is causing it to fail?

The only time I've seen this happen was with a virus infection. Have you tried doing an online virus scan? When this happened to me the AV installed on the server would not pick up the virus at all and if I remember correctly the bitdefender on line scan to find the virus.
