MIS
Greetings-
E2K3 SP2 FE/BE on W2K3 SP1. We have three DCs. I've followed all the Microsoft instructions on how to set this up with no success. I get the error:
"The Exchange Server is Unavailable..."
I've followed the troubleshooting doc and everything is set up correctly as far as I can see.
The conflict is this: in the MS KB articles it says to use the Back End FQDN server name for the Microsoft Exchange Server But in a MSExchange.Org article ( it says to use the FE server name in this field.
NOTE: Under the Proxy Server Settings I do have the FQDN FE name.
When I use the BE name, I don't connect and I get nothing in the Application Log on the FE server. When I use the FE name, I still don't connect, but I do get an entry in the Application Log:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: RPC Proxy
Event Category: Startup
Event ID: 3
Date: 9/20/2006
Time: 12:33:55 PM
User: N/A
Computer: EXCHANGE_FE
Description:
RPC Proxy successfully loaded in Internet Information Services (IIS) mode 6.0.
Also, in another post it said that the RPC over HTTP service needed to be installed on my GC server. Is that true? I've not seen that in any MS documentation...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanx
OregonSteve
