I've been using 1-2-3 ver 5.0 for many years and due to winXP I have purchased ver 9.8. With 5.0, if I printed a row that had a height of 72 points that equaled 1" of paper. On ver 9.8 the row height has to be 76 points per 1" of paper.

I have a situation where I print labels that are 2/3" per label. On ver 5.0 that came to 48 points per label. On ver 9.8 to print the same label would take 50.666 points which is not possible.

Other than printing 2 labels at 51 points and the third at 50 points is there anything I can do to get ver 9.8 to have 72 points per inch?

In case a solution can't be found for ver.9.8, the following is what I had posted awhile back...

SOLUTION FOR LOTUS 123-R5 FOR USE WITH WINDOWS XP

I've been able to get Lotus 123-R5 working completely without any problems whatsoever - in Windows XP - with the following steps:

1) Create a desktop shortcut for loading Lotus 123-R5.

2) Right-click on the desktop icon, and choose "Properties".

3) Under the "Shortcut" tab, opposite "Run", specify "Normal window".

4) Under the "Compatibility" tab, set the following...

a) for "Compatibility mode", check off "Run this program in compatibility mode for", and then from the pulldown, choose "Windows 95".

b) under "Display settings", check off:
- "Run in 256 Colors"
- "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"
- "Disable visual themes"

c) under "Input settings", check off:
- "Turn off advanced text services for this program".

Click "OK", and you're done.

This is the same reply I've seen for other ver 9.8 & 5.0 problems. I do not have a problem running either version. I do however have an issue with ver 9.8 taking 76 points per inch vs 5.0 taking 72 points per inch.
