Hello.

I have a little question, of how to do the following ?

Here is my probb.. I have an DSL connection to internet. And also i ordinary modem in my computer. I want to share my DSL connection to a friend over ordinary phonelines using 2 modems.. (mine and 1 at his computer.

I have try to do this in win2000 professional erlier but my friend didn't get any internet traffic. tryied variuos settings but nothing worked.. he couldn't surf the net thru the modem connection using my DSL coneection. Someone told me that i had to use a "server version" of windows to do this.. so now i have installed win2000 server. but just wounder if someone have any tips of how to route the traffic to my friend over the phoneline..

Please help me.

Best Regards

What you're trying to do is to set up a Remote Access Server (RAS)?
First. It is possible to do so on W2K PRO, but you can only use one line.
Second. Run the "Make new connection" wizard, and choose "accept incoming connection". Folow the guidelines in the wizard. When you enter the screen where TCP/IP is listed, enter the properties. Here you will have to choose how the dial-in is getting his IP to communicate with your machine and LAN.
You'll se the option "Allow callers to access the LAN), this is the option that makes the IP farwarding possible. If all the standard services is enabled, it should work.

This should do the trick.

I hope it works.
