Hi.

I have three Cisco's (A, B, C). Cisco A is the core router (3640) and has static routes for a small network. Cisco B is on the same LAN with a serial T1 connection to Cisco C. I need to route a subnet from Cisco A to Cisco C. Can someone post a sample?

Why use static routes? Turn on a routing protocol and make your life a little easier.

Config t
router eigrp 100
network X.X.X.X
end

Do this on all routers, and where X.X.X.X is, use the classful designation for your subnets. Be sure to add all the networks that each router is directly connected too. For example, if you only use the 10.X.X.X subnets in your network. use "network 10.0.0.0" on all your routers.

If you use 172.16.X.X and 192.168.0.X then use "network 172.16.0.0 and network 192.168.0.0"

Thanks.

I also have static routes for subnets that are routed to non Cisco equipment.

For some reason I cannot get Cisco B on the network I assign it an IP address in the ethernet interface...

nevermind...

I left out the ip default route statement.

Eigrp works like a charm. Thanks!

No problem. If you want your routing protocols to work with non-cisco equipment, use RIP. Your network isn't too huge that it couldn't handle it.

I would run OSPF to be cross platform and still be a good IGP. Run OSPF on all the ciscos, and see if you can turn it on your non-cisco routers. If you can't, take your cisco that is facing the non-cisco route and redistribute your static routes into OSPF.
