routing statements

my computer has address 10.0.103/24 and i want a routing statement showing how to get to a server B (10.0.602/24). In between there are four routers. how do i select the best ones to use and how to make the routing statement?

If your routers are running SPT they will choose the best route for you. I imagine if you have 4 routers on your LAN they are running STP.

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) has nothing to do with routing (sorry SMASPE). You should simply have a gateway defined in your TCP/IP properties. The gateway would be a router that is directly connected to the local area network that your workstation is on. Hopefully this router knows how to get to the desired destination (that’s what routers do), but if it doesn’t, then this router (or some other downstream router) needs to be configured. Simply put, routers in the same autonomous system usually exchange routing information via dynamic routing protocols. If configured correctly, the routers will make the appropriate connection for you.

The addresses are a bit confusing:

10.0.103/24 .... I presume that you mean 10.0.103.0/24

10.0.602/24 ..... errrrr .... 602??

You might want to check these!!

gtrtrooper is right about the routing though. Each router needs to know how to get to each network. You can acheive this by either adding static routes (ie. to get to network aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd you need to go via router 111.222.333.444) or by using a routing protocol like RIP or IGRP.
