We are going from dial access code 9, to 99.
Some changes:
Feature Access Code from 9 to 99.

Changed Dial Plan:
Dialed String= 99, was 9.
Total Length= 2, was 1.
Call Type= fac, was fac.

99 worked, I can get outside line. But, when I dialed 911, it was denied and waved off before I dialed the second 1.
I traced the call to 911 BEFORE changes and noticed it was using ARS, but no route pattern....
THIS IS HOW WE ARE PROGRAMMED:

ARS digit conversion:
matching number=911
min=3
max=3
delete=3
replacement string= 52117 (we are 5 digit dialing on base)
net=ext
conv=n

AAR digit conversion:
matching number= x11
min=3
max=3
delete=3
replacement string= 52117

ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS:
Dialed String= 911
Min=3
Max=3
Route Pattern= p9, going to an outgoing commercial trunk group. But, in the trace, it didn't show the route pattern like you usually see on a traced call that goes out the trunk group.
Call Type=alrt
ANI Reqd=n

I had to go back to DAC-9, didn't or really can't leave 911 out of service...This is tricky because I cant test the changes for very long.....Any idea's !

You should have 99 in the dial plan as a 2 digit FAC and 911 as a 3 digit ARS.

I don't know why you are changing from 9 to 99 but but it is not somehting I would typically program.

That is correct, 99 in DP as 2 digit FAC and 911 as 3 digit as ARS...It worked , only in one of our switches...
When I tried it my switch, (WE HAVE 2 BTW) I received a message saying "ars" ARS/AAR Dialing without FAC feature not assigned.
One of our switches had this set to "Y", mine "N"...it worked in one switch, not the other.....Something we have to investigate, I can't change this because its in the systems-parameters customers options....But, I did create a VDN and Vector to send 911 to our extension thats assigned to the 911 calls....Basically made 911 a 3 digit ext in dial plan, created a VDN WITH EXT 911, CREATED IN THE VECTOR ROUTING IT TO THE NUMBER ASSIGNED TO 911. Tested it and it worked......

The reason we are going to 99 (commercial/Long Distance) and the 94 as DSN. It will free up 8 that was DSN, and now will be an extension instead of a fac.....Thanks for your reply....I'll let you know what we end up doing !

Check your 911 route plans and settings.

You likely have a setting for 9+911 as well as 911 that builds out to 9+911.

This is for any of the people who panic, and forget to dial 9 before they dial 911. They can simply dial 911, and the system will match that, and build it out to 9+911.

Have a look at your ARS analysis. (list ars analysis)

See if you have the two entries. If you do, you should modify them to include 99 instead of just 9.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
