Routers, Switches, Hubs, Firewalls - history 1

For a report I have to prepare I needed some info on the history of commercial networking equipment that became available to be implemented by users and corporations alike. I was wondering if somebody could point to a link or tell me other wise on the timeline of such events. Like when the first public/commercial router, switch, hub, firewall was brought out by Cisco and rival companies also, if possible.
I looked in cisco, google and wikipedia, but couldnt find what I wanted. Hence, I would greatly appreciate all advice/info.
