Hi
For our monitoring tools, we use commercial tools for performance/bandwidth monitoring like Solarwinds as well as for network monitoring etc like HP OpenView.

To cut costs, I am thinking of using Linux based GNU software instead. Does anyone have any recommendations for any software etc?

Question- if you have Solarwinds now, and HP Openview..is the cost of the upkeep on Openview that's hurting your wallet? Solarwinds is a one time registration. And its some pretty good software if you ask me. Where are you wanting to cut costs?
