Hi guys

I'm trying to get rid of an old image on a couple of my routers, but I'm having trouble getting it complely off of there. I used the: MyRouter#delete <filename> and said NO to deleting th flash..

Now when I look at my flash: it says

<filename> [deleted]

It's still taking up space.. I tryed the Squeeeze Flash command an it tells me:

"first create squeeze log by erasing the entire device"

I don't wanna erase my entire device!!! What should I do?? I need to get that off of there so I can get my new IOS on there but keep the one I upgraded from a couple of weeks ago..

Thanks guys

snootalope,
The squeeze function may not be available for all models of routers. I've only ever used it on routers with a PCMCIA flash card. What model router do you have?

The workaround is to copy all your files to your TFTP server. Erase your flash, and WITHOUT reloading your router, copy the new IOS image (and the other files you want to keep) from your TFTP server back to the flash. When you reload the router next, it should boot off the new image and still have your other files on the flash.
