I bought a used 2501 router to study for my CCNP. I reset it to factory defaults, it seems to boot fine but get a

Router(boot)>


prompt

I'm not sure what this prompt means and would like to get it to be the normal Router> prompt.

How do I fix this. Thanks

you've booted in ROMMON.

-make sure you have a boot statement (boot system xxx.bin)
- make sure your config reg is set to 0x2102

config t
config-register 0x2102

Also check to see of you have a good image on your flash.
