I have a single ADSL connection for use in a Home Office (5 office terminals right now) with 3 separate home users. Right now, everyone is networked together using 2 Linksys switches. What I need to accomplish is to separate the home users from the office users, but share the Internet connection. I also need to provide a firewall for everyone on the network. I am envisioning something like this:

Linksys Switch->Home Office xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
|
WAN->ADSL Router->Router
|
Linksys Switch->Home Users yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy

Are the Cisco SOHO routers capable of this? Can I replace the ADSL Router->Router combo with a single router? What would be the best router to do the job in either configuration? Thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or discussion on this.

Any router with dual fast ethernet interfaces can do this for you. You can create two different subnets for the office users and home users and you can NAT them (basic firewall) and use some access lists to control traffic even more. So the answer to your question is yes, a SOHO router can do what you want. Yes to your second question, and you should check out Cisco's web site for the router model that would best suit your needs.
