Hello,

You see, I'd downloaded up to 3 times the IOS c2500-is-l.122-4T3.bin and the invalid checksum msg after being tfpd by my 2500 router popped out =( .

I thought because of network traffic some bits did not escape from being corrupted or so, though, at night having the whole Internet for myself I'd tried again.... however with same unlucky result.

Does anyone know what could be happening here ??

thank you so much !!!

Sounds like the size of the file you are trying to download is larger than the available free space on your flash mem.

1. Check your current flash size. ("sh ver" or "sh flash")
2. Confirm the IOS file size is not larger than your flash.
3. You may have to erase your current IOS file in your flash to make room for the new IOS. Ensure that you backup your flash file to your tftp server prior to erasing it so you can restore it in the event the upgrade goes pear-shaped.

In fact, at Cisco's webpage the tech specs were like "16M flash/16M RAM "

the following is the output of the 2500 rtr :

cisco 2500 (68030) processor (revision L) with 14336K/2048K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID 09219184, with hardware revision 00000000
Bridging software.
X.25 software, Version 3.0.0.
2 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)
2 Serial network interface(s)
32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY)

and as you've said, I backed up my prior IOS file, erased it from flash and upload new IOS but did not work at all.

cheers,

If you have one available, try a different piece of flash...

Of it could just be that its a bad image... Are you able to reload your old image and get the router to boot?

Did so and worked with old image, as updated fact, what's buzzing me around is the following msg while rebooting the router :

Cisco Internat....
IOS (tm) 3000 Bootstrap ...
Copyright (c) ....
Compiled Thu 23....
Image text-base: 0x01020000, data-base: 0x00001000

% Mismatched chip sizes (size1=0x200000, size2=0x100000)
% System flash query failed. Access will be RD-ONLY

I even tried with another IOS (12.2.11T)

I will follow your advice and try changing flash and see what happens, could c2500 12.2 IOS might be corrupted somehow ??
