I am busy building a new router running RedHat 6.2.
I added the gateway with:
route add default gw 192.168.0.100
well, it works for 1 minute and when I type route -n, after about a minute, the route has disappeared.
How can i configure the system so the gw route stays?

Are you running &quot;routed&quot;? If you are, then disable it and then try adding your route. &quot;routed&quot; can be a *big* security hole, and it's usually safer to create static routes. In your case, &quot;routed&quot; may be deleting the default route from the routing table. I was running static only, but for some strange reason everything is working now.
Can't explain it however.
It's a weird wide world.
Bout the security part, thanx, wasn't thinking in that way already [sig]<p>MiQ<br><a href=mailto:mcvdmvs@mcvdmvs.net>mcvdmvs@mcvdmvs.net</a><br><a href= well, erhm, ok... I'm busy trying to teach myself JavaScript, C++, Java and other webrelated stuff.[/sig]
