This is probably a very basic question - I've always had Avaya programmers work on my ARS, AAR, and Route Patterns, but now I'm teaching myself how to set this up - lots of trial and error but I'm getting there.

In a lot of our route patterns, the NPA is shown as 200. We're in area code 210, but I don't think that this is a typo. When I check the NANPA website, it defines area code 200 as an "Easily Recognizable Code".

Can anyone give me an explanation of what area code 200 is and why I have it in my route patterns?

In order to force the PBX to send out the NPA you sometimes have to trick it. If you were to tell the switch that the NPA of the TG was 210 it might not send out the full 10 or 11 digits depening on either your toll-table setting, ARS digit conversion, or the hnpa/fnpa setting in the ARS Analysis table. I prefer to stay away from toll-tables since new NXX codes are constantly being added.
