On my network I have a 2003 server (iface: 192.0.2.4) acting as a VPN server (iface: 192.168.3.1), I have a Linux Box that's the network's default router (iface: 192.0.2.1) and (iface: Static external IP), I have a workstation at home with a VPN client (iface: 192.168.3.2), and a workstation at work (iface: 192.0.2.100).
Before yesterday I was able to remote desktop with no problems from my work workstation to my home workstation through the VPN. All of a sudden I am no longer able to see my home workstation from the work workstation.
I am able to ping my home workstation from the VPN server but no where else on the network, pinging from the work workstation to home workstation was working before yesterday.
I've checked all the routes:
Work workstation has a default gateway of 192.0.2.1.
Linux server (192.0.2.1) has the route "Dest: 192.168.3.0, Gateway: 192.0.2.4"
VPN server (192.0.2.4) has the route "Dest: 192.168.3.0, gateway: 192.168.3.1, iface: 192.168.3.1"
192.168.3.1 is the VPN interface on the VPN server.
When I traceroute from any machine on the network to 192.168.3.2, it first goes to 192.0.2.1, then to 192.0.2.4, then request timed out. When I traceroute from the VPN server (192.0.2.4) to the home workstation I have no problem getting to it.
I checked to make sure IP Forwarding was enabled on the Linux gateway and on the VPN server.
I am the only Admin on the VPN server and I know I haven't done anything to the VPN server aside from rebooting it.
Anyone have any ideas where I can start looking?
Thanks
