Is there a way route calls via incoming CLID to appear on particular buttons on a phone? Looking for something that will in some way replicate line appearances, once the lines and associated inward numbers are moved to a PRI.

I played around with one way to make this work...

point each inward number at a phantom user, use coverage button for that user as the "button", turn phantom users coverage time down to zero or one.

Is there a tidier way to make this work though? gonna be a heck of a lot of Phantom users.

IF i understand correctly you just want to see a light just like with a line appearance?

You could make a group for each number.
Be more specific and probably we can help you.

essesntially what I'm looking for is something that would work like a line appearance, yes.

It's actually a taxi company, which has incoming off-hook lines at various locations which auto-dial (line eqp in telco CO does this) a main number at the taxi company when patrons at the pub or mall pickup the on-site taxi phone.

Their existing phone systems sorts these via incoming CLID (each off-hook site has a unique CLID) and points them at a button on a phone, labelled as the location.

They want to replicate this on their upcoming IPO and have lots of button modules to do it with.

I can make it work by building loads of phantom users and incoming calls routes, routing each CLID to a unique PU, and making coverage buttons for each of those PU's as the "button" on the BM.

I'm just wondering if there's a more elegant way to do it.

Build groups with the name you want.
Then make a group buttons on the phone(s)
Put them in the groups.
It will ring the first CA and also light up the button you want.
This way they can see the name on the CA and on the button and also the CLI.

by putting the "them in the groups" you're referring to the agents who would actually have the buttons on their phones?

The advantage of this scheme would be no requirement to build Phantom users, so tidier, yes.

thanks

Indeed. Put then in the groups.
