Hi, my linux redhat 9 was working fine until i changed the authentication settings to validate users with ldap, after that, i was unable to connect as root or other user. I got the "authentication failed" message.

i tried as single user to change in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file the lines for passwd, shadow and group
from "files ldap " to "db files ldap" but this don´t fix the problem.

Thanks in advance for any tip.

Martin.

Just for the record: The problem was fixed, running the command authconfig as single user.
