Can you help....????

I loaded MSFC 2 IOS and boot loader files to bootflash of the router module and guess what....its a MSFC 1 card.....grrrr!! My mistake..... I hold my hand up too it!!

Yes I know .....the "sh mod" command helps at the beginning before you tftp the IOS.

Problem now is, can I remove these files from ROMMON prompt as bootflash does not have enough space to take the correct IOS for the card.

I have tried to use a new PCMCIA mem card but the device does not see slot0.

Can anyone help????

you need to get a linear flash card for it to work

sounds like you have a sup1 correct??

You should check the Cisco web site, but I recall that you usually need to format the pcmcia from the sup prompt, and then you can use it.

As for the IOS, you can write over the existing file while the router is operational, re-state the boot, and reload/repower. Should a problem occur you will need to xmodem an image file.

If you have two MSFC(HSRP) you can reload one at a time, and thus you always have a back-up to avert disaster.

Goodluck
