I have a cordless phone that rolls over to another extension after 4 rings, but the second extensions voicemail will not come on. Is there a fix to this?

Sorry A call will not follow a second cover path, it will go back to the first and follow the rest of the options in that cover path. BUT>>>>> you could put in a remote dial in the second option to get the call to go. Wisdom is Knowledge

If you have vectoring, you can assign a non DID VDN as the second point of coverage and point it to a vector that sends the call to messaging for the second extension.

If (a) your cordless phone doesn't have voicemail, and (b) you want the covering extension to "keep" the voicemail, at least Intuity Audix will allow you to have a "secondary extension" associated with the primary mailbox.

To do this (and check your vm system anyway if you're not using Intuity Audix), let's say that the cordless is x1234, the primary covering extension is x1432, and voicemail is the second coverage point. In Audix, make sure that 1234 has no mailbox, and change subscriber 1432 and add 1234 as a secondary extension (on the 1st page). Now, call coverage will direct calls for x1234 to the "shared" voicemail box with x1432.

Depending on how you have your PBX system features set, call forwarding (instead of call coverage) may also get calls to the cordless into the other mailbox... but it's probably not a useful solution for you here (you want the cordless to ring).

Good luck, hope this helps!
