Hi,
Have a problem with romaing profiles. Running server 2000 and xp sp2 clients. Never had trouble with romaing profiles before this.

Only have 2 roaming profile users

1 user logs on upstairs and creates a new folder on desktop called test1. Logs off. Logs back on and the folder test1 is still there. Look on the server and test1 is there in her profile. SO FAR SO GOOD.

Same user logs on downstairs and test1 folder is not there on her desktop. Creates a folder on desktop downstairs called test2. Logs off. Logs back on and the folder test2 is still there. Look on the server and test1 and test2 are there in her profile.

Log back on upstairs and still only see test1.

Log on to any other machine and test1 and test2 are both there and roaming profiles work fine.

So the two machines seem to update the profiles properly but only wanna see data created by itself as if its looking at the local profile only. But the really weird thing is that the other romaing profile user works fine on these machines.

Weird HUH??????Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Check the profiles for the user where the roaming profile is not working - on both computers. The profile should be listed as roaming, not local.

check event log on both PCs and you may find a permissions issue that stops the profile coming down but allows the changes to be written up.

Thanks for the tips I will check those out today and get back to you.
