when my machine logs into the domain it always has the same profile. It is not picking up the profile off the domain. THe profile looks the same for every user. When I go into the properities of my computer it shows me that all the machines are using local profiles. How can I fix this. the server is setup properly. becuase the other machines on the network work fine. and pull the right profiles this one machine however is not. Thanks

Please Help!

It sounds as if this machine is not "logging" on to your DC. The clients appear to be just logging in locally. Your first stop will be to check your DNS and see if this machine is recorded there.

log in locally as admin, and delete the local profile either by going to System->Properties_>USer profiles or going into Documents and Settings and deleting the folder of that user. THe try again to log into the network with the username, at this point it will search for the profile on the sever, because doenst have any locally stored. If it doenst find the server you will noticed, and then you will know that something is wrong with the link.If it loads the same profile, then check if the profile is mandatory by looking at the extension of the user file (.man) if it is mandatory the you can change it to .dat.
hope this helps A+, MCP, CCNA
