I have a NT workstation and server which has lost the roaming profile for one of the users. The user now logs in and gets an error that the roaming profile cannot be found and he msut use the local profile, which gives him no access to any of his files or profiles. Any help would be appreciated to get his roaming profile back. Thabks in advance.

Is the computer seeing the network?
Are there other computers that might have another version of the profile?
Are you able to restore the profiles from a backup?
Where is the user profile pointing to store it's info?
If all else fails, you could blow away that profile, and create one with the same name and give them the same permissiions as before. They will lose the user settings, but it sounds as if they are gone in any case. I hope that this helps.

Do an ipconfig and then a release/renew. That will tell you right off the bat if the machine is seeing the network. This happens all the time when a machine loses connectivity to the network.
