Hi all i'm having an odd problem with new users not being able to update their roaming profiles. Current users seem fine but if i create a new user it can't copy all of the profile over when the user logs off, i say all of the profile as the same four files appear each time then it fails. The four files are NTUSER.DAT, ntuser.dat.log, ntuser.ini and ntuser.pol, then it seems to fail to copy the rest of the profile. I then get the error "Windows cannot copy file C:\Documents and Settings\temp\Start Menu\Programs\Startup to location \\server\users$\students\99\temp\profiles\start menu\programs\startup"

If i then copy the local profile to the server it seems fine, i'm a bit stumped as it seems to be a permission problem at first glance but the four files being copied across seems to indicate not.

The share path is \\server\Users$\Students\99\temp\Profiles it hasn't created a problem before but it it possible that this path is to long?

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks.

Checked that already thanks. The problem seems to of solved itself at the moment much to my annoyance, i really don't like it when problems clear themselves up with no explanation.

Thanks.
