I realized after that this was not a good idea. I started eseutil to do an offline defrag of the database, walked away from the computer only to come back and find the terminal server session had closed, I re established the session but it did not pick up the old one. So now I have no window showing me the progress of eseutil. Is there anyway to get it back to show me the progress. Will there be an entry in the application log when it has finished?

eseutil works by condstructing a temp db, then at the very end swaps the rebuilt temp with the original. If you stop it, it's unlikely to damage anything.

Have you tried using Terminal services manager to connect to or shadow the session?

Thanks for your reply. I figured because the temp .edb file was not growing that the process had stoppped, so I remounted my mailbox store, no errors. I installed VNC and have restarted the whole process, thanks

in the 2003 version of the RDP client, try servername -console next time: you'll get a console session.

I am trying that it is not working, server name space -console?

What is the exact syntax?
