Rls 6 8

Anyone see anything on dates for rls 6? Seems the cisco engineer here wants to upgrade to rls 6 prior to end of year. i told him that might be a problem.

I have not seen anything on 6, Nortel had a programm to go to 5 that just started in July of 07.

Betatesting for 5.5 is now on the way.
5.5 is scheduled for februari 2008.
So I really don't know where rls 6 is coming from ???

I used to do Novell Networks. Moved into Nortel Telecoms because it was stable, didnt change too often.

It is stable. Only the market is asking for new features, so Nortel must develop new software.

I would imagine this has to do with the microsoft collaboration. Some people in Nortel has whispered Rls 6 to be released at the end of 08...

Nortel should be able to provide you with what they call an NDA presentation on what is included in 5.5 under a Non Disclosure Agreement with your company.

As for 6.0 content, there have been some high level NDA presentations given at INNUA, but this is not at the point Nortel calls POR or Plan of Record. It is still pre-POI in fact.

From what I understand there are the following categories:

Candidate Content
Things that are being evaluated

Plan of Intent
Non-committed Content, but under final review

Plan of Record
Committed content

From what I was told, content can change at any time prior to the actual GA, but it is rare that POR content changes.
