I have run into a road block in my testing and deployment of Windows XP using RIS. I have a few different platforms I am amble to deploy my Windows XP risetup to. This includes IBM t23 ThinkPads and T30 Thinkpads. I just got in the new T40 ThinkPad and I am unable to get the computer to connect to the RIS server. I have downloaded all required drivers and followed the proper procedures from Microsft and Intel ( NIC Provider ) and I am still unable to get it to connection.

Any help is apprecaited.

You've tried the RIS boot floppy? RIS can be a real pain. Perseverence has enabled me to be able to deploy most models of systems, but not all. Hopefully you'll crack the T40. I'd actually look at the IBM newsgroups. I know that my RIS problems with Compaq were answered on their forums, not by Microsoft.

Same here. I had a heck of a time with RIS and the new Intel cards supplied in my newest Dell desktops. There are quite a few steps involved in fixing it, and I ended up getting all my info from the Dell forums where other people had already overcome it. I am sure you'll find the same on the IBM site.

That you both, appreciate the replys! I will give it a shot and see what happens.
