Hi there

I created an XP SP2 image and managed to install that to a laptop via PXE and RIS (W2k3 Server). This worked perfectly. I installed all the latest drivers, all the software I wanted etc etc and then ran RIPREP to create an image back to the RIS server.

The laptop then rebooted and a XP config screen came up to set regional settings, enter License key, PC name and administrator password etc and then went on to ask for workgroup or domain details. The laptop couldn't connect to the domain so I clicked option to try later.

I now get to a log on screen but when I enter the admin details I get "Your account has been disabled....."

What's gone wrong here? I expected to just run through a few things and then log back into the laptop as it had been set up before running RIPREP.

Also, when I look at the RIS settings in AD I can't see the new RIPREPed image listed, only the original RIS install image of XP SP2. Do I need to add this somehow?

Do I need to reinstall from RIS the OS back onto the laptop again?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ok not sure what happened there but have got back into the laptop.

I rebooted in safe made with network support which then allowed me to log in as the local administrator. Once logged in I then added the laptop to the domain and rebooted. It took a while to create the domain lists but I can know log in again.

If anyone could give me answers to my questions anyway it would really help me understand what happened and what I'd done wrong

Cheers
