My phone is ringing and the stupid bell canada voicemail keeps coming up.
I cant even pick up the phone, it is directing straight there.
How do I use the Norstar mailbox which I know I have because it used to work
...

Arnoldstrong could you be a little more specific about your problem. Bell Canada is a service provider& a norstar mailbox is on a product that is manufactured by the former Nortel now Avaya company.Stupid Bell Canada is one of about 10,000 companies that sell this product worldwide.

Sounds like you have analog lines. If so, either your line is forwarded directly to the voicemail service at Bell Canada, or you are on the line and the next caller(s) will go to the Bell Canada voicemail because there is no other place for the caller to go and they're not giving a busy signal.

As stated above; sounds like you are using analogue telephone lines.

If you don't have many analogue lines in to your phone system, people will receive a busy signal when they call your shop, when all your lines are in use.
The Bell Canada service provided voicemail can help, because - if all your telephone lines are in use, the customer will not get a busy signal, they get the Bell Canada voicemail, and can leave a message.

You do not lose a customer because you were on the phone.

As Curlycord said, you can pick up the telephone line and do a *94 and change the number of rings before the Bell Answering service answers the call. Change it to 6 rings and you should not have an issue.
