I've inherited the above as a salvage piece from a friend, but have been unable to get it either to burn a cd or to play a feature DVD all the way through. It can read data DVDs perfectly well, and the testing process and speed checks work ok in both Nero and Easy CD. Every time it starts to try to actually write data to a CD I get error messages like: "Medium speed error" and "Invalid writestate".
It's configured as a secondary master on a GA-6BXC motherboard with a E-IDE CR-840S as slave. I don't know what more information y'all might need (hardware not being my speciality...), but any thoughts would be most gratefully appreciated...
