RichTextBox Spell Check using Ms Word Interop

How do you use Interop services to do spell Checking with MsWord for rich Text? I can make everything work accept maintaining the formatting. When I pass the text in as RTF the spellchecker evaluates the RTF tags. If I pass it in as text I loose all formatting. Does anyone know how to make this work without loosing the formatting.
