Not sure whether this question is for this forum or the MySQL forum but I will give it a try.

Is it possible to insert rich text via PHP into a MySQL database? Any hints or links would be appreciated. I would like to have colored text and links.

thanx

I apologize maybe my question was not clear. Is it possible to cut and paste a word document which has different colored text into a form which saves to a MySQL database and keep all its properties? So when it is retrieved the colors are the same.

If you copy & paste a word document to the notepad and then back to word do you keep the same format? No.

The best thing is saving the document as HTML, then copy and paste the generated code to the mysql, but you are going to loose too much.

dadms,

My two cents:

I found a rich text editor written in JavaScript. I tried to copy contents from a word document and paste it into the editor ... well, it works, almost. Some issue with double line breaks between paragraphs, but maybe you can use it anyway for inspiration!?

Here the link:

You should be able to grab the "source code text" and save it in your database.

Good Luck §;O)
