RH9 Up2date problem

I've got a problem with redhats up2date program. I get connection refused. If i look in /var/log/up2date.log I have this:

[Tue Jan 6 13:51:56 2004] up2date A socket error occurred: (111, 'Connection re
fused'), attempt #5
[Tue Jan 6 13:51:56 2004] up2date Error communicating with server. The message
was:
Connection refused

Is this due to them discontinuing rh linux?

Hi,

Are you using demo license or pay license. If you use demo license, then I can say redhat server is overloaded so they disable demo license temporary.

I am using a demo account but doesn't it normally tell you with a proper message when demo access has been disabled? I'm sure i've seen it before...

login to RHN and check your RH9 system there or not...
make sure your RH9 system register on RHN.
Demo license should work fine.Because I used demo license too...

and, you can use the demo account for 60 days, i think the license agreement says that

As far as I recall RedHat was going to end the up2date functionality from Dec 31. Is that when your problems started?

RH9 support will end in april 30,2004 the 7.x/8.x this month
but if you are using a demo, you wont get any update anymore, did you register, even once your original RH product, the Box of RH9 comes with the support activision key that serves as your token to the support, in RHEL AS3 even you have the copy you cant update anything, coz its requires an account and your RHEL AS3 is registered, one is one basis support per server.
