Beginning a warehouse RF system. Just installed a Symbol AP4121 access point. Setup seemed simple enough. Assigned a static internal ip address, subnet mask, default gateway ip. No DHCP. This is our standard PC setup as well. Can't ping it. Unit is operable and can be pinged on an MS network. Any ideas?

Can't ping it from what? Your NetWare server or a PC?

Thanks for responding. On the Novell network, from either a PC or the server. I probably should be on the wireless forum, but I first want to rule out Novell, which seems to be an issue since the access point works on an MS network. Novell client is 3.3 (Win98) and 4.83 SP2 (XP). Below are the network specs for the access point.

Driver Support NDIS v4.0 and v5.0
Ethernet Frame DIX, Ethernet_II and IEEE 802.3
Filtering Packet Rate 14,400 frames per second filtering and forwarding
Ethernet Connection 10Base-T (AP-4121 model access point)
Serial PC/AT serial port - DB9 Male, RS-232 using a DTE
termination, 19200 bps
SNMP Version 1, Version 2 subset, Symbol MIB, 802.11 MIB
and MIB-II

I'll close this out and move on. I grabbed a crossover cable and connected the access point directly to a PC and was able to ping it, so I think it's a cabling issue. Thanks again.
