Hello,

I want to configure reverse proxy on my Border Manager server (3.6) to give access to my GroupWise 6.5 webaccess server.. I know how to set this up however I just like to know how bad this is. What are the major security risks involved.. Do many people out there use reverse proxy in
this way to allow users outside of the network read email via GW webaccess, or to provide access to any internal web server??? It looks a good solution to me!

Thanks,
Jonathan

we use reverse-proxy here (squid) ... it is about as secure as the internal web-server would be if open to attack from a couple of a hundred users a day.

if your web server is secure, then it'll be fine.

(ps. if you can have it running on any port other than '80' you will get significantly less hits from would be attackers.)
