Hi all,
I have the following problem;
I have just created a primary forward lookup zone and enabled the Dynamic Update; I would like to create the corresponding Reverse Lookup Zone but I am not sure about the setting of this particular zone; infact I have use the following Network ID: 31.1.1.0
Mask: 255.255.255.0
What's the zone name to be used to enable dynamic update for the PTR resoure records too?
Thanks in advance
Leonardo

leobis,
The zone name would be 1.1.31.in-addr.arpa.dns.
That's the standard format. Not sure how this works with dynamic updates though.
On another note, you may have someone doing reverse DNS for you. Most backbone providers handle this as well as ISPs.
