hi.

i'm new to linux, but have successfully managed to install bind for our college. everything seems fine when i check it out with samspade, but the reverse lookups don't seem to be right.

our external subnet is /27.

here are some relevant bits from my reverse lookup file--

$ORIGIN 192/27.38.86.194.IN-ADDR.ARPA.

IN NS dns.ourcollege.ac.uk.
IN NS external.ca.net.

195 IN PTR rtr.ourcollege.ac.uk.

from these lines i'm trying to set up a reverse lookup on rtr.ourcollege.ac.uk to 194.86.38.195 - is this how it's done or am i missing something fundamental?

thanks for any help!

john
