Morning,

I have a list of 1418 computer names and I need to find a way of logging their ip addresses without manually pinging them 1 by 1 and noting it down. I do not have access to DNS. Someone mentioned that this would be an easy thing to do with a vbscript but I have no expereince in this field at all. I have searched the net for any existing ones but have come up empty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

I had the same task so I used fping to ping each machine name against the list I held in excel. This was output to a text file and imported back into excel.

After a little tidying up I had an ordered list of computer names and their IP addresses.
