I have users that don't listen - anyone else have that problem?!?!?!

We use a full TS 2000 implementation on our network. All client PC's at the office are at least Win 2000. We have just enough licenses for the various combination of machines for daily work. We rely heavily on the niceness of the embedded RCP client in 2000 and XP.

I have users that still insist on trying to connect from home for checking email, etc. Home PC's are all forms of Windows - with the majority earlier than Win 2000.

In an effort to save licenses for the machines that actually need them, is there any way to accept/deny TS access by Windows version?

TIA,
Doug Maurer

No, the beauty of Terminal Services is that any machine can connect, even a MAC.

The most you can do is restrict these users from being able to attach to Terminal Services.

If you have Exchange, show them how to use OWA and remove their Dial In rights.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
